The Irish Times Fantasy Premier League swings back into action this weekend after the international break and with only eight games left in the season time is running out for fantasy manager to climb to the top of their league.
Here in the Managers Office we continue our week long coverage ahead of round 31 with a look at defenders for the upcoming fixture week.
With many managers looking for not only a clean sheet but a differential to boot we have combined both needs in our defenders tips this week, with all of the player either offering a clean sheet, attacking returns or a differential and in some cases all three.
So with that said here are our thoughts on defenders for round 31 of the Irish Times Fantasy Premier League.
Nacho Monreal (Arsenal) £4.2 million Fixture: Reading (Home)
Nacho Monreal is a player we have spoken about quite a bit since his move to London in the January transfer window and he recent performances suggest that there is more to come from the former Málaga man.
Patrice Evra (Manchester United) £5.0 million Fixture: Sunderland (Away)
The United defence has picked up five clean sheets in a row and as they prepare for the trip to the Stadium of Light this weekend many fantasy premier league managers will be eying up the United back line for another clean sheet this weekend.
Leighton Baines (Everton) £4.5 million Fixture: Stoke (Home)
One man who has caught our eye over the recent break is Everton’s Leighton Baines, the Toffee’s full back has been ever present this season for David Moyes and with a clean sheet picked up last time out the Toffee’s look to be finishing off the season with the usual flourish.
Sascha Riether (Fulham) £3.5 million Fixture: QPR (Home)
Fulham have only lost one of their last six games and during that time they have picked up three clean sheets, which undoubtedly will come as a surprise to many fantasy premier league managers who may have written the Cottagers off.
