It appears that Swansea City are still suffering from their Capital One Cup Victory hangover as they slumped to their third defeat in a row at the Liberty Stadium as Arsenal collected three points with a 0-2 win that was made even more satisfying as Tottenham suffered defeat last weekend. These results combined puts Arsenal 4 points behind Tottenham with a game in hand.
Goals from Nacho Monreal and Gervinho were enough for the Gunners to get the win with Ramsey and Giroud getting the assists.
Cazorla Looks Good Value in Central Role
Santi Cazorla was deployed in the “hole” behind Oliver Giroud and he had an impressive game but did not get rewarded which will frustrate fantasy premier league managers. The skilful Spaniard had four attempts on goal and created five opportunities for teammates who failed to convert.
Arsenal have fixtures against Reading (H), West Brom (A) and Norwich (H) coming up and it appears that Cazorla has done enough to hold onto his central attacking role. He offers Irish Times Fantasy Football managers fantastic value and a cheap route into the Arsenal team.
Clean Sheets on the Horizon, but who should you buy?
Looking at these games it is also tempting to consider an Arsenal defender as Clean Sheets will also be expected by Arsene Wenger and Steve Bould in these games. It is difficult to select Arsenal defenders as although both Arsenal full backs played very well both Gibbs and Sagna are knocking on the door to reclaim Monreal and Jenkinsons places. With rotation of goalkeepers and central defenders too it is even more difficult to select players from this part of the pitch, also they are less likely to get you more than a clean sheet at best.
At present the best player to select would be Monreal as he deserves to keep his place in Arsene Wengers team but if you purchase any Arsenal defenders be sure to check our predicted line ups on Fridays to ensure your selection is expected to play.
