After bagging a hat-trick last time out against Wigan it is almost impossible for us to look at strikers for round 29 of the Irish Times Fantasy Premier League without mentioning Luis Suarez.
With only 12 teams set to play in round 29 the selection process is somewhat off kilter, but in all honesty even if we had a full complement of games to choose from Suarez would still be in the reckoning.
Putting his performance last week aside, Suarez has been scoring goals for fun this season and has been at the heart and sole of everything good Liverpool have done this season.
Having lead the line last weekend in the absence of the injured Daniel Sturridge it is unclear whether or not he will do so again as we await news on whether or not Sturridge has recovered from an ongoing thigh problem.
But one thing is for sure, despite Tottenham’s recent good run of form they are going to have their work cut out for them when it comes to trying to contain the plucky Uruguayan.
Tottenham’s recent defensive display on the road is certainly not one that breeds confidence heading into their trip to Anfield after they conceded two at Upton Park and fantasy managers will be hopeful that Suarez can exploit the same gaps in the Spur’s defence as those found by the Hammers.
This game is undoubtedly going to be full of chances with both sides playing good attacking football of late and with Liverpool finding their feet at just the right time Suarez will be keen to put even more distance between him and Robin van Persie in the race for the Golden Boot.
