Looking back at last weekend’s game between Chelsea and West Brom there is no douting that the Baggies looked devoid of any real penetration and just seem to lack that cutting edge in the absence of their leading goalscorer Romelu Lukaku, who was forced to miss out on the game due to the terms of his loan deal.
Thankfully for Steve Clarke’s men the big Belgian is back in the side for the the vistit of Swansea to the Hawthorns this coming Saturday.
Since making the loan move to the West Midlands at the start of the season Lukaku has gone onto to show why many consider him to be the natural replacement for Didier Drogba at Chelsea with his power and pace and of course an eye for a goal.
With 12 goals and 3 assists to his credit this season there is no doubting that the Baggies success this season has been largely down to his performaces with Lukaku having a hand in 15 of West Brom’s 36 goals this season.
Having had a break last weekend the 19 year old will be eager to put the cat among the pigeons as they welcome Swansea to the Hawthorns and with the Swans failing to win their last four on the road and conceding 6 goals in the process Lukaku will be keen to heap more away day misery on the newly crowned Capital One Cup champions.
In truth this game could go either way, but one thing we can be sure of is that there are going to be chances and with Lukaku boasting a conversion rate of almost 21.4% in his last four appearances he hopefully won’t need too many chances to convert.
