That time of the week has rolled around once again when fantasy managers have to start thinking about just who they are going to hand the captain’s armband to this weekend.
With Manchester United’s Robin van Persie unlikely to feature this weekend when Norwich come to town fantasy manager’s seemingly obvious choice looks out of to be out, so just what options are available?
After publishing our final thoughts on the top players to be considering for round 28, there are a number of players worthy of the armband and as usual we have narrowed them down to our top 3.
The first player for you consideration is the superb Gareth Bale, the Tottenham midfielder has been in magnificat form of late and has been returning fantasy points for fun of late. Spurs welcome Arsenal to White Hart Lane for what is sure to be a hotly contested north London derby, but with Arsenal going through somewhat of a rough patch Bale could profit from some tardy defending.
The next man up is Liverpool’s Luis Suarez, having had a week off due to some fixture rescheduling Suarez is sure to be chomping at the bit ahead of Liverpool’s trip to Wigan. Suarez was on form last time out as the Red’s beat Swansea 5-0 and with the Latics still struggling at the wrong end of the table Suarez is sure to have chances to add to his 18 goal tally.
Last but by no means least is Wayne Rooney, The United striker looks odds on to lead the line for United this weekend as Sir Alex looks set to rest Robin van Persie ahead of their second leg Champions league game with Real Madrid next week. Rooney has been hit and miss this season but with a chance to start up top beckoning Rooney will be keen to find his shooting boots against Norwich this weekend and prove he still has what it takes having been somewhat overshadowed this season by van Persie’s achievements this season.
