Round 27 of the Irish Times Fantasy Premier League certainly wasn’t a bad one in terms of strikers delivering the goods, but it did however have some bad news for fantasy maangers, that injury to Robin van Persie.
With van Persie now likely to be kept under wraps until after United’s Champions League second leg against Real Madrid the real question on managers mind’s is “Who do I bring in to replace RVP?”
Well as usual our coaches are on hand to bring you their thoughts on the matter and hopefully some of the options below will help you answer that all important question.
Luis Suarez (Liverpool) £7.1 million Fixture: Wigan (Away)
Suarez has been in blinding form this season and is second only Robin Van Persie for league goals this season and with the Dutch striker likely to be rested ahead of Manchester United’s second leg tie with Real Madrid Suarez is a more than capable replacement.
Rickie Lambert (Southampton) £5.7 million Fixture: QPR (Home)
Lambert has notched up an incredible six goals and five assists in his last ten games and currently finds himself as the forth top scorer in the league behind RVP, Suarez and Ba and when you consider his price tag it makes for even better reading.
Wayne Rooney (Manchester United) £8.0 million Fixture: Norwich (Home)
Of course it’s not been all bad for Rooney this season, the England international has 10 goals and 7 assists to his credit this season, which although is less than we usually see from him, it’s still not a bad return all things considered.
