Gerrard Returns Well Rested

As many fantasy football managers will have been aware of Liverpool did not feature last weekend due to their fixture with Swansea being rescheduled and having not seen them play at the weekend it could be easy to over look them for this coming weekend. Well we certainly haven’t and neither should you.

Well rested and on form could be a valuable combination ahead of Liverpool's trip to Wigan.

Having beaten Swansea 5-0 in a game that seems to have been played so long ago, the last thing Brendan Roger’s would have wanted was a weekend off, but that’s what he got.

The break in play however will have afforded his players time to rest and prepare for the final weeks of the season and this could be key over the coming weeks as Liverpool make their final assault on the European places.

Steven Gerrard is one player who intrigues us greatly heading into round 28 of the Irish Times Fantasy Premier League and with just cause many would say, the Liverpool skipper is having the best season we have seen from him in quite some time and it proving to be a good source of fantasy points.

Gerrard has 8 goals and an extremely impressive 12 assists to his credit this season and having notched up six goals and six assists in his last eleven games his form couldn’t be better as Liverpool head to Wigan this weekend.

Wigan are the only side in the premier league yet to record a clean sheet at home this season and stat I’m sure Wigan boss Roberto Martinez is none to proud of.

Despite their recent 3-0 win over Reading the Latic’s are going to have their work cut out to get anything from the game and an even tougher time trying to stop Gerrard pulling the strings in midfield.

More Midfielders For Round 28…..
