Midfielders are somewhat of a bone of contention at the moment among fantasy football managers but for good reason, with so many players showing great form of late the choice of viable midfield options is enough to make you head spin.
But as usual here in “The Managers Office” our coaches are here to offer a helping hand and guide you in the right direction. This week’s selection contains a mix of on form player and differentials depending on what you feel you team requires ahead of round 28.
Gareth Bale (Tottenham) £5.4 million Fixture: Arsenal (Home)
Two goals against the Hammers at Upton Park was exactly what the doctor ordered in terms of a fantasy return and after his spectacular second in injury time to win the game for the Lilly Whites it seems almost unthinkable not to at least consider him for the impending fixture week.
Joe Cole (West Ham) £4.0 million Fixture: Stoke (Away)
The former Chelsea and Liverpool midfielder has been slowly creeping up the pecking order in terms of fantasy potential for the remainder of the season and Monday night’s performance typified not only the threat he possess but his ability to influence games.
Moussa Sissoko (Newcastle) £3.6 million Fixture: Swansea (Away)
After picking up another goal at the weekend Sissoko has now netted three goals and two assists in just four games for Alan Pardew’s side and he was instrumental in helping the Magpie’s come from a goal down to beat the Saints in round 27.
Steven Gerrard (Liverpool) £5.8 million Fixture: Wigan (Away)
Steven Gerrard is one player who intrigues us greatly heading into round 28 of the Irish Times Fantasy Premier League and with just cause many would say, the Liverpool skipper is having the best season we have seen from him in quite some time and it proving to be a good source of fantasy points.
