The fantasy prospects of the Manchester United back line have been well documented here in “The Managers Office” over recent weeks and once again this it is hard to ignore the current league leaders as we go in search of clean sheets in round 28 of the Irish Times Fantasy Premier Leauge.
United have been in outstanding form at the back in recent weeks and have collected three clean sheets on the bounce in the league, which by anyone’s standards is very impressive regardless of the opposition faced over the last three fixture weeks.
Patrice Evra has been immense at the back and fantasy managers are seeing the best points returns we have ever seen from the French international. Evra’s latest clean sheet against QPR last weekend now means that the United left back has produced either a goal, an assits or a clean sheet in nine of his last ten appearances.
Norwich make the trip to Old Trafford this weekend and there is no doubting that despite the fact that the Canaries put two past Everton in round 27, Manchester United will not be so easy to break down.
Chris Hughton’s side have been playing well and have picked up points over recent weeks but they are struggling for goals lately especially away from home. On the road of late Norwich just can’t seem to find that final pass and it has been evident in their results, managing on one goal in their last three away games.
At this point in the season we expect United to kick on a gear and try and secure the title as early as possible and despite the fact that many fantasy managers will be looking for differentials it is very hard to ignore a defender that has two goals, four assists and five clean sheets in his last ten appearances.
