It’s hasn’t been plain sailing for Chelsea in recent times and as a result fantasy managers have lost a little faith in their fantasy favourites, Rafa Benitez’s rotation policy has been the ruination of many a good week and it is becoming increasingly frustrating for all those with a vested interest.
That said there is still value to be had in the Chelsea line up for those willing to take a punt on a turn around in fortunes and with the fixture list seemingly easing up for the Pensioners now looks to be the time to get on board.
As we said Rafa’s rotation policy has been extremely frustrating this season, but we all knew it was coming when he took over, the key to investment in the Blue’s is to look for those rare players that seem impervious to his tinkering and believe it or not there are one or two.
Branislav Ivanovic is one such man who is seemingly imune. The Serbian defender has only missed one game since the departure of Roberto di Matteo which is good news for fantasy managers heading into round 28.
West Brom make up the opposition at the Bridge this coming weekend and as we discussed in our goalkeeper section on Petr Cech, the Baggies make the trip to London without their leading talisman Romelu Lukaku who is ineligible to play against his parent club.
This will come as good news for fantasy managers keen to back the Blue’s for a clean sheet this weekend and with Ivanovic shifting from center half to right back last weekend we will be hopeful that we will see him get forward more and perhaps add to his four goals this season.
