With our player tips and Captain tips out of the way our coaches here in the “Managers Office” have been keeping a close eye on this morning’s managers press conferences and with most of them complete at this stage here are the main talking points to come out of them.
Having ruled out Wayne Rooney for this weekend in his press conference on Thursday Sir Alex Ferguson has no stated that the United front man is back in training and could yet feature in their game with QPR at the weekend. QPR were also quietly optimistic about the fitness of one of their strikers Loic Remy. Remy has apparently trained earlier in the week, but Redknapp admitted that he will have to keep a close eye on him and is unsure whether he wil risk him this weekend.
Manchester City have a number of injury concerns ahead of their game with Chelsea as they continue to monitor the fitness of Vincent Kompany and Gareth Barry with Mancini hopeful that both will make a return this weekend stating that he will decide tomorrow whether both are fit to start.
Up north their are injury worries for both Newcastle and Sunderland with the Magpie’s hopeful that keeper Tim Krul will recover from an ankle injury picked up midweek to face Southampton, but with unconfirmed reports suggesting that he could be out for up to five weeks it doesn’t look good for Alan Pardew’s side, while the Black Cats will be without Danny Rose who has a hamstring injury, while skipper Lee Cattermole is unlikely to recover from a knee problem in time for the trip to West Brom.
David Moyes has told us during his press conference that he has concerns over the fitness of Victor Anichebe ahead of this weekend’s trip to Carrow Road. Seamus Coleman on the other hand may come into contention for the Toffees after returning to training this week. The Canaries are not without concerns of their own with Chris Hughton hopeful that both Alex Tettey and Andrew Surman will regain fitness ahead of the Toffees visit.
There was good news for fantasy managers with a vested interest in the Hammers defence with “Big Sam” announcing that Joey O’Brien, George McCartney and James Collins are all back in training for West Ham ahead of Monday’s home match with Tottenham.
