This week’s strikers selections are certainly not as straight forwards as many fantasy managers may think, with a number of players in contention and showing signs of form heading into round 27 there were quite a few who could have just as easily made it into this week’s picks.
But with only 12 week’s left fantasy managers are going to have to make some tough decisions over the coming weeks and their season could hinge on their selections if they don’t get it right.
Differentials are the name of the game from this point on as managers looks to set themselves apart from the competition while also trying to be mindful of what the opposition are up to and this week’s picks seem to cover that quite well.
Robin Van Persie (Manchester United) £8.5 million Fixture: QPR (Away)
There is no doubting that without the regularity to which Robin Van Persie find the back of the net Manchester United would not be in the position their are in now, the same can be said for many fantasy premier league teams. The consistency at which he has brought in attacking returns has certainly help fantasy managers attain their current league position.
Sergio Aguero (Manchester City) £7.8 million Fixture: Chelsea (Home)
Having scored twice in City’s 4-0 victory over Leeds last weekend Aguero looks to have assured his place in the starting line up with Edin Dzeko likely to partner him up front. The Argentine international has been hit and miss this season but looks to have found his touch again with three goals and two assists in his last six league games.
Rickie Lambert (Southampton) £5.7 million Fixture: Newcastle (Away)
The Saints have only lost two in their last ten which is impressive given the fact that they had lost five of their previous ten games.Pochettino’s approach has been quite simply and yet effective, he sets his side out to counter and counter at pace and it seems to be working a treat.
