Sissoko Makes A Case For Midfield Inclusion

Moussa Sissoko’s arrival at St James Park has heralded a mini resurgence up north as Newcastle go in search of Premier League safety after a pretty poor season by their standards.

Two goals and two assists in three see Sissoko offer a cheap differential for the impending fixture week.

The Frech international has featured in every game since his arrival from Toulouse and although it was thought that perhaps we would see him in a more defensive midfield role that hasn’t been the case with Alan Pardew opting to deploy him just behind Papiss Cisse.

Sissoko has produced attacking returns in all three of his games so far notching up two goals and two assists and with Southampton making the trip up north he may well get the opportunity to add to that tally come the weekend.

The Saints have also had somewhat of a mini revival since the arrival of Mauricio Pochettino. Having only lost one of their last six Southampton will certainly provide a stern test for the Toon Army.

Sothampton’s away record however would certainly suggest that Newcastle will get chances this weekend, the Saints have only managed one clean sheet on the road this season and given the fact that Newcastle have only drawn a blank in one of their last six this game could come down to goals not defending.

Sissoko’s price tag is of a huge benefit to fantasy managers at £3.6 million he offers a cheap alternative and a differential to boot, two things that fantasy managers are going to need over the coming weeks.
