Liverpool’s controversial striker Luis Suarez has been in and out of the headlines this season and not always for the right reason’s but on the pitch Suarez has been in fine fettle for the Red’s and finds himself second only to Robin Van Persie in the fantasy premier league standings.
Suarez has 17 goals this season which is six more than his entire tally for last season, as far as assists go the Uruguayan international has five to his credit, just one less than his total last season.
There is no doubting that Suarez has found his goal scoring form this season under Brendan Rogers and realistically is probably the only one who can challenge Van Persie for the golden boot this season.
The arrival of Daniel Sturridge to Anfield looks to have forced Suarez from his regular out and out forward position to playing in “the hole” behind the former Chelsea man or out on the flanks, but this change has not seemed to bother the Liverpool number 7.
Liverpool’s fixtures over the coming week’s at Anfield are rather favorable in terms of Suarez’s prospects of adding to his goals tally.Liverpool have scored 22 goals at home this season with Suarez having a hand in ten, scoring eight and assisting in two and with Swansea, Tottenham, West Ham, Chelsea, Everton and QPR to come that tally could well rise over the coming weeks.
Away from home Liverpool have scored the exact same amount of goals 22, Suarez however has been even more clinical with his finishing scoring nine and assisting in three and with Wigan, Southampton, Aston Villa, Reading, Newcastle and Fulham to come these games look to be very enticing indeed for Suarez and fantasy managers. Wigan are the only side in the league that have not kept a clean sheet at home this season conceding on average two goals per game, as for the rest, they have all been conceding quite a few goals of late at home and Liverpool and Suarez will be hoping that trend will continue as they look to make a late charge up the league table.
There is however a slight word of warning for fantasy managers and that is the fact that Liverpool do play in round 27, so beware that if you are brining him in prior to round 27 he will not play, but after that it should be plain sailing for the Liverpool striker.
