The Manchester United Full back has been ever present for the current league leaders this season and his consistency in appearances has been matched by his consistency in performances. United head into the final 12 weeks of the season with a 12 point lead at the top of the table and with favourable run of fixtures coming up for the Red’s the league title looks like it could be making a return to Old Trafford.
Evra has collected six clean sheets this season, which does not necessarily make for good reading for fantasy managers but a much more encouraging stat for the United defender is the fact that he has four goals and six assists to his credit which makes him the highest points scoring defender in the game with 83 points.
The United defence as a whole has kept seven clean sheets this season with two of those coming in the last two games it would seem that the United defence has found it’s form and beginning to look a lot more solid that it has done in recent times.
Four of United’s seven clean sheets have come at Old Trafford and there is no doubting that it is at the Theater of Dreams where they stand the best chance of adding to that tally over the coming weeks.
As far as United’s run in goes they welcome Norwich, Reading, Manchester City, Aston Villa, Chelsea and Swansea, the games left to come at Old Trafford will certain afford the United full back with chances to add to his clean sheet tally for the season but with three of the six opposing teams have rather weak defences Evra could well add to his goal and assist tally.
Away from home Evra and United travel to QPR, West Ham, Sunderland, Stoke, Arsenal and West Brom in their final six away games of the season and once again there are a number of rather enticing fixtures for fantasy managers to consider going into the final weeks of the season. With QPR, West Ham and Stoke struggling to find goals at the moment these game will certainly appeal to those looking for a clean sheet when the fixtures roll around.
With his defensive capabilities clearly evident for all to see Evra certainly represents a very viable full back option for fantasy managers to consider and when you add the threat he poses going forward he looks to be a one to watch closely over the coming weeks.
