Monday, February 4th, 2013 at 9:52 am by Paul Caffrey

The latest round of the Premier League produced six clean sheets for fantasy premier league managers. Even Manchester United youngster David De Gea managed to keep a clean sheet despite the tempory floodlight failure at on Saturday evening as Fulham hosted the Red Devils.

Undoubtedly Mark Bunn was the star of the show for the Canaries as he saved an Adel Taarabt penalty after he was adjudged to have brought down Jamie Mackie in the area to ensure that Norwich kept a clean shet at Loftus Road against Harry Redknapp’s QPR. His opposite number in the early kickoff on Saturday was the powerful Julio Cesar who collected his fourth clean sheet from five games.

Harry Redknapp has really shored up the R’s defence since he took over with West Ham the only team to score a single goal against his new side in this period. QPR have impressively kept clean sheets against Chelsea, Tottenham, Manchester City and Norwich since 2013 began.

The other three clean sheets came at the Emirates as Szczesney helped Arsenal neutralise Stoke City, Upton Park as Swansea could not breakdown West Ham and at the Hawthorns as Spurs managed a shutout against West Brom. Each of these teams won their games 1-0 so they needed their backlines to be on form to take the 3 points home.
