It is shaping up to be an exciting weekend of Premier League action after a relatively boring transfer deadline day compared to years gone past. The highlight for many was the non-transfer of Peter Odemwingie to QPR, the less said about this the better! This weekend fantasy premier league managers are backing Manchester United, Arsenal and QPR strongly with a ground swell towards fantasy premier league assets such as Wayne Rooney, Oliver Giroud and Adel Taarabt.
Everton take on Aston Villa and many will be expecting a strong performances from Fellaini who owes fantasy football investors one after a few quiet rounds. Leighton Baines was the third most popular defender transferred in ahead of round 25 at the time of writing this piece. We all know the Englishman can get goals but the question is can Everton start to keep a few more clean sheets. If results go the Toffees way this weekend they could be sitting in a Champions League position by the end of it which should be motivation enough for them to get the right result against a struggling Aston Villa.
Theo Walcott has scored in his last three Premier League appearances and he is a possible captain as the gunners welcome Stoke to the Emirates Stadium. Over the last five games Stoke have conceded an uncharacteristic fifteen goals and Arsenal will be looking to add to their woes this weekend with Giroud and Wilshere looking sharp.
Manchester United travel to Cravin Cottage to a ground where they generally get the right result, a few tough games over the years have cost them points but it is expected to be a routine win for the Red Devils as Fulham are really struggling at the moment.
The game of the weekend is on this Sunday and it pits Manchester City against Liverpool. Brendan Rogers men had a strong performance mid-week earning a 2-2 draw at the Emirates Stadium, the Reds will be optimistic of causing an upset against Manchester City. The Sky Blues started life without Mario Balotelli only managing a 0-0 draw at QPR and they also might be looking to reduce a 10 point deficit if Manchester United beat Fulham on Saturday. The pressure may well and truly be on Roberto Mancini’s men by the time this game comes around.
