With a delicious prospect of some midweek fantasy action and a chance to male up some ground in their fantasy leagues managers will be keen to make this week’s midweek captain decision count and as usual our coaches here in the managers office have been hard at work sifting through all the viable options from this week’s player tips to come up with three options for fantasy football managers to consider before the kick off of tonight’s first game.
This week’s captain decision for many is a no brainer for many fantasy managers with Manchester United’s Robin Van Persie the firm favourite among them to take possession of the armband as United welcome Southampton to Old Trafford on Wednesday night and it would seem that our coaches are in full agreement. Van Persie’s goal record this season speaks for it’s self and with the Saints having conceded 26 goals in 11 away games the appeal of handing the Dutch man the honour becomes all the more alluring.
Juan Mata is another option for fantasy managers to consider ahead of Chelse’s game with Reading if they feel that perhaps RVP could stumble this week and they want to take a risky differential captain decision. Mata has been at the heart of the Chelsea attack in recent weeks and with the Blue’s seemingly playing better on their travels under Rafa Benitez it may not be all that risky of a decision after all.
Tottenham provide us with the last man on our list for the armband this week in the shape of Gareth Bale, the Welsh winger has been hit and miss this season and hasn’t scored since round 19 when he picked up a hat-trick but after grabbing an assist over the weekend in the F.A Cup he could well be about to go on another run of games that could see him emulate the form we saw from him over the festive period.
Robin Van Persie (Manchester United) £8.5 million Fixture: Southampton (Home)
Juan Mata (Chelsea) £5.3 million Fixture: Reading (Away)
Gareth Bale (Tottenham) £5.4 million Fixture: Norwich (Away)
