Captain Tips: Round 21 of the Irish Times Fantasy Premier League

Monday, December 31st, 2012 at 6:24 pm by Phil Mc Grath

The festive period is nothing if not a hectic time of year for fantasy premier league managers with games coming thick and fast and with all the commitments that life can bring at this time of year fantasy managers can lose track of what is going on on the pitch and as a result can find themselves lagging behing come the January break for the F.A Cup.

This week’s captain tips are for some a relative straight forward formality as those we have selected face a decent fixture and are all on form having returned attacking points in their last outing. Juan Mata has been mister reliable for Chelsea of late having notched up either a goal or an assist in eleven of his last twelve outings and with a game against struggling QPR  coming up he may well continue his constant returns. Luis Suarez looks to be back to be back to his goal scoring best after he notched up a brace last time out and with a game against Sunderland on the card for New Year’s day Suarez will be looking to start the New Year with a bang against a Black Cat’s side that will be with John O’ Shea. Robin Van Persie proved his worth last weekend as he came off the bench to grab a goal against the Baggies and with United in fine form a trip to struggling Wigan will be a welcomed New Year’s day fixture for the Red’s and the Dutch man.

Can Mata continue to impress as he faces off against QPR?
