Leighton Baines £4.5 million. Fixture: Southampton (Home)

Baines has been a Fantasy Football favourite for many years and Everton’s strong start has seen him along with Pienaar and Fellaini shine. So far this season Baines has scored 25 Irish Times Fantasy Premier League Points!!

The points haul for Baines has included a goal, two assists and two clean sheets which is a fantastic achievement and at £4.5 million he is a moderately priced defender for the points potential the England International offers.

Fantasy Football Defender Tips: Baines Future Potential

Everton have the fixtures that will give Baines the opportunity tostay among the top points scoring defenders over the coming weeks.

The home games for Everton over the next three weeks are: Southampton, Liverpool and Sunderland

The away games for the Toffee’s coming up are Wigan, QPR  and Fulham.

The combination of teams that leaks goals and Evertons shut out potential makes Baines & co a very attractive proposition for the coming weeks.

Everton have trips to (wig, qpr, ful) in the next six and are also set to welcome Liverpool and Sunderland to Goodison

Ryan Shawcross (Stoke City) £3.6 million. Fixture: Swansea City (Home)

After a relatively poor fantasy points return last season from Stoke and Ryan Shawcross it appears that the Potter’s are going to be difficult to score against no matter how much other Premier League teams pay for attacking players. They kept a clean sheet against Arsenal early on and were unlucky to concede against Manchester City as they took a point off the Champions.

Last week Shawcross was unlucky to be part of a defence that conceded late on against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and in truth could have won the game 0-1 just as easy.

“Easy” Home Games for Stoke

The next three home games for Stoke include Swansea, Sunderland and QPR which gives Irish Times Fantasy Football Managers the opportunity to pick up much valued Clean Sheets which are difficult to come by this season.

Davide Santon (Newcastle United) £3.6 million. Fixture: Reading

Newcastle again look a force this season under Alan Pardew and Santon has made left back his position following on from his days at Inter Milan building a solid premier league status.

Last week saw Newcastle keep their first Clean Sheet of the season and with a trip to Reading this weekend they will be favourite to add another if they can keep Pavel Pogrebnyak quiet. Reading have gotten off to a poor start and are struggling to put together any momentum. The Royals have just managed a handful of goals this season which pays into Newcastle’s hands.
