Norwich yesterday completed the signing of Javier Garrido from Lazio, the former Manchester City left back joins on a season long loan and is one that should help sure up the leaky Norwich defence. Of course it does raise questions over the amount of game time that will be afforded to Marc Tierney, who was ever present in the Canaries defence last season.Pre-season results have been encouraging, with four clean sheets in the last six friendlies and Tierney looked an intriguing option. However now it would seem that he is no long the first choice at Carrow Road and will have to fight to impress new manager Chris Hughton.

Liverpool have agreed terms with SC Heerenveen for the services of winger Oussama Assaidi. The US International looks set to feature on the right for Roger’s side, which of course could have an effect on the fantasy potential of Stewart Downing who also plays wide right. The news of this deal however does seem to put pay to Liverpool’s attempts to lure Clint Dempsey away from Craven Cottage. Brendan Rodger’s new look Liverpool are likely to start the season with the gaffers new system of 4-3-3 which could now see Suarez on the left Assaidi on the right and Borini through the middle. Assaidi’s deal is subject to a medical but, it is unlikely that there will be any complications there.

Swansea have signed Kyle Bartley from Arsenal on a three-year deal. With Chico already arriving from Genoa, the understanding was that  Chico would team up with  Ashley Williams at the heart of the Welsh club’s defence but Michael Laudrup looks to have other ideas up his sleeve. With a strong starting schedule, the Swans backline seem primed for investment but with doubts surrounding the central areas, Angel Rangel and Neil Taylor could well be a safer bet until we discover the new manager’s intentions. If the rumor mill is anything ti be believed then it would seem that the Dane not finished soending and is currently hatching plans to bring Pablo Hernandez to the club, raising question marks over the long term potential of last seasons fantasy favourites Scott Sinclair and Nathan Dyer but with just one day before tomorrow’s kick-off  it looks likely that the two will be safe for the first fixture week.

Newcastle have signed Vurnon Anita from Ajax on a five-year deal. The 23-year old is versatile and is capable of playing  in defence but Alan Pardew was quick to explain that he plans to feature Anita in the midfield for the coming season.During his press conference Pardew also revealed Papiss Cisse has recovered from a recent hamstring problem and will be available for selection against Tottenham, which will come as great relief both to Magpie’s fans and fantasy premier league managers alike, however we are still being left in the dark when it comes to Cisse’s strike partner Demba Ba who is suffering from a shin injury, though it’s worth remembering the Senegalese striker slumped in form this time last year after fasting
during Ramadan.
