Assaidi’s deal is subject to a medical but, it is unlikely that there will be any complications there.

Newcastle have signed Vurnon Anita from Ajax on a five-year deal. The 23-year old is versatile and is capable of playing in defence but Alan Pardew was quick to explain that he plans to feature Anita in the midfield for the coming season.During his press conference Pardew also revealed Papiss Cisse has recovered from a recent hamstring problem and will be available for selection against Tottenham, which will come as great relief both to Magpie’s fans and fantasy premier league managers alike, however we are still being left in the dark when it comes to Cisse’s strike partner Demba Ba who is suffering from a shin injury, though it’s worth remembering the Senegalese striker slumped in form this time last year after fasting
