    Wave of jubilation

Following the stunning photograph that appeared on the front page of the Irish Times earlier this week, here’s a short film of the team of surfers tackling Ireland’s newest monster wave.

‘Prowlers’, so called because the team were prowling the west coast looking for a wave to rival the famed Aileens off the Cliffs of Moher before discovering it five years ago, was first surfed on Monday.

Whether they’re simply being territorial – although hordes of weekend surfers will hardly be able going to rock up and tackle the beast – or simply keeping an air of mystery over the wave its exact location remains a closely guarded secret.

That said, those in the know should have relatively little trouble in working out where it actually is with one possible site already being being bandied about on the web.
