We ran the Dublin Docklands 8k last night, along with the 2,520 others who featured in the final results. And one of those finishers was our competition winner.

First, some things that stood out for us:
- It was a warm enough night in the end.
- The single start made for a lot of traffic in the opening kilometres.
- The kids playing Frogger as they dashed through runners to get across the road.
- Supporter of the night: the guy at Grand Canal Dock, driving by while shouting from his car “go on yis bastards!”
We also had a competition in which we asked you to guess the combined time of that fresh-looking bunch in the (post-race) picture.
Here were our times:
Louise Creedon 45:04
Shane Hegarty 37:05
Cliona Mooney 49:46
Harry McGee 37:09
Carl O’Brien (running with our colleague Debbie Clancy’s chip because he left his number in a Dublin Bike, so ultimately making Debbie the 7th fastest female) 32:20
Total time: 201 minutes 24 seconds.
We had several guesses close to that, but the winner through her e-mail entry – only one second away at 201:25 – was Niamh Cavanagh of Greystones (who also ran last night). She wins €250 of running gear of her choice. Well done!
