Sheep furnishings: Makers & Brothers brings its Shed pop-up to Brown Thomas, Dublin, from Saturday displaying the work of Irish designers, including shaggy sheepskin stools (below) by Wicklow man James Carroll. The motivating wall sticker measures 60cm by 40cm and costs £18 (about €21.19). The website also has a selection of sheep-themed wall stickers that insomniacs could use to adorn their walls in a bid to nod off. A set of eight costs £22 (about €25.90), plus delivery of £9.99.
Stools paradise: Arena Kitchens (01-671 5365, arenakitchens.com) on Sir John Rogerson’s Quay, Dublin 2, has stock of the Lem 55-67 swivel bar stool, designed by Shin Azumi and Tomoko Azumi for Italian label La Palma. A brushed-steel base is topped with a brown leather seat and a pneumatic spring makes height adjustable (55cm-67 cm). They have been reduced from €595 to €397 each and Arena has 15 in stock. The Brunch table pictured is not reduced. It has aluminum legs and is available in blanched oak, stained walnut, black or white for about €2,355. Also reduced is an ivory floor -model wardrobe (200cm long by 230cm high), down from €2,300 to €959.
Couch down: At Casey’s (caseys.ie) the Newport three-seat sofa (right) is reduced from €1,735 to €999 and is available in 30 fabrics (198cm by 91cm by 91cm with a seat depth of 53cm). Correction In two articles which appeared in the edition of November 7th, we stated that a New York venture capital fund which had negotiated Luxembourg tax agreements has a 25 per cent shareholding in the company which operates TheJournal.ie website. This is incorrect. The company which publishes TheJournal.ie informs us that it is not backed by any venture capital fund.
