Keane: Very numerous: all areas, especially Munster. Ir. Ó Catháin, Ó Céin. The former is general in Munster; the latter relates to Waterford. Evidently distinct from the Ulster group, although Woulfe refers to a branch of the Derry sept in Clare. SI & SGG.
Keen: rare: Down. Possibly English, also a variant of Keane, q.v. DOS.
O'Keane: rare: scattered. Ir. Ó Catháin. Also as Ó Céin (a different name) in Waterford. See also Keane and Kane.
