Foy: numerous: Galway, Connacht generally, Ulster, N Leinster. Ir. Ó Fiaich. From fiach, a raven, used as a personal name. Woulfe mentions Ó Fáith as a shortened form of Fahey, which might account for many of the Foys in Connacht. SI & SGG.
