Senior business and finance journalist
We wish to appoint a senior business and finance journalist.
Reporting to the Editor through the Business Editor, the successful applicant will be an experienced business journalist with an established track record. Applicants must be able to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of Irish and international business affairs together with the ability to generate exclusive news stories across a range of business sectors. This role will also involve writing informed analysis and pertinent commentary pieces to a very high standard. Candidates will be expected to show a proven ability in these areas.
The successful candidate will provide our readers with authoritative and interesting business coverage and will be expected to contribute to a number of sections in both print and digital. The person appointed will build on our reputation for accurate, innovative and agenda-setting business and finance journalism.
Candidates must demonstrate their ability to work independently and with others inside and outside the company. They must also possess initiative, excellent judgment, decisiveness and good interpersonal skills. The nature of the appointment requires a high degree of flexibility, adaptability and a capacity to produce first-class work for both print and digital platforms under considerable pressure.
The salary and other terms and conditions will be based on the Agreement between the Company and the National Union of Journalists.
