Applications are invited for the post of Political Correspondent.
The person appointed will be an experienced journalist who has demonstrated the ability to write incisive news reports and provide authoritative analysis for both print and digital. The ability to work quickly and accurately, often under considerable deadline pressure, is essential.
The post calls for excellent editorial judgment, scrupulous fairness and a high level of personal initiative and commitment in order to identify and pursue political stories. The person appointed will need to be both flexible and versatile.
The successful candidate will have a keen and deep knowledge of Irish political institutions and processes, inside and outside Leinster House. S/he will be expected to contribute to the expansion of our political coverage across all platforms including print, digital, audio and video.
The Political Correspondent reports to the News Editor through the Political Editor.
The salary and other terms and conditions will be based on the Agreement between the Company and the National Union of Journalists.
