No birthday invite but a big day out beckons

HERE’S A lovely little story about our new President.

Since he won the election, Michael D has been inundated with correspondence. One letter was opened on Thursday.

It was from 13-year-old Finn Murphy from Ardmore in Waterford. He wrote that he is a great admirer of Michael D’s and would love to attend his inauguration, as it was his birthday yesterday.

In the middle of all the preparations for Dublin Castle, Michael D telephoned the young man and explained it would not be possible to include him on the list at such a late stage.

However, he promised that in the next few weeks, he will invite Finn and his grandparents to Áras an Úachtaráin as his special guests.
