Splash for summerDingle Sailing Centre is running a water-based activity camp for children aged six and over throughout August.

Consisting of four three-hour sessions, Monday-Thursday, participants will get a taste of kayaking, sailing, snorkelling and powerboating. This takes place in the safe waters of Dingle harbour, and all equipment is provided. Cost is €90. The centre also runs sailing courses for older children, 10am-5pm, Monday-Friday, costing €280 per week. Dingle Sailing is an ISA accredited training centre. Mapping your wayOrdnance Survey Ireland recently launched a new range of Discovery Series maps which will benefit ramblers, hillwalkers and outdoor enthusiasts. Nine maps covering West Kerry, West Cork, Dublin City and North Wicklow are the first in the series to be available with the others to follow. The maps are priced at €8.60 each. Lectures in the westConnemara National Park is hosting a series of evening lectures each Wednesday in August. This Wednesday, the topic of the lecture is George Wilkinson, Builder of Irish Workhouses, which will be delivered by Walter Raftery. The lectures start at 8pm and are free of charge.
