The Plover ClubBallycroy National Park is hosting a series of family fun days every Thursday during the months of July and August, featuring the flora and fauna of this national park in northwest Mayo.

The workshops start at 2pm and spaces are limited to 20 children per session. Adults must remain with the children for the duration of the activities.

Admission is free and all children attending five or more workshops will receive a wildlife information pack. For more details call 098-49888 or see ballycroynationalpark.ie.

Kilkenny Recreation Sports Partnership is hosting croquet afternoons in Kilkenny Castle Park on Wednesdays (July 14th and 21st) at 3pm.

Croquet is played outdoors on grass by striking a ball with a mallet through hoops.

Plod

Dublin Mountains Partnership in conjunction with the Irish Mountain Running Association (IMRA) is hosting a half-marathon (21km) through the Dublin Mountains, starting and finishing at Marlay Park. The run takes place on Sunday, July 18th at 10am.

The event is being run to raise awareness of this wonderful resource on the doorstep of the city. Walkers and runners are welcome. There is an entry fee. For more information and online entry visit dublinmountains.ie/plod.
