The Omagh & Fintona Methodist Circuit will present Gospel Fest Goes West today. This night of Gospel music will feature both local and visiting artists. Proceeds are in aid of the Methodist Missionary Society (Ireland) Container Ministry, admission is £12 and the event starts at 7.30pm in the Strule Arts Centre, Omagh.

Continuing the theme, Carnlough Methodist Church is holding a country and Gospel concert on Thursday March 3rd, at 8pm. The artists will be Geri Kane, Moira Crawley, John Burns and Kenny Paul; with backing by Steve Farlow and with Rev Tommy Stevenson as compere. Admission is £7 and proceeds are in aid of the Alzheimer's Society.

Big Red House, an organisation with a ministry to young people, is running a youth leader training day on Saturday, February 27th, from 10am-4pm in Whiteabbey Presbyterian Church, Newtownabbey, at a cost of £15 including lunch. Among the questions being discussed are the following: how do you respond when a young person tells you their parents are separating? What is an eating disorder and why do young people develop them? How can I help young people in my group when they are stressed or anxious? What do I do if I discover a young person is self-harming and how can I help them? Soul Mates provides a safe, nurturing environment for young people aged nine to 13 to learn about God, the Bible and themselves, through energetic and engaging worship, teaching, entertainment and workshops. The theme this year is Guess Who? I am! and Chris Neilands is the main speaker with Adam Strong leading worship.

This life of "mission spirituality" is one filled, transformed and overflowing with the love of God and neighbour. The movement is ecumenical, and draws upon the wisdom of John Wesley who pioneered a world-changing movement of mission-shaped disciples, with the principles of longing for more of God, seeking him through spiritual disciplines, and helping one another through small group fellowship.

They will be shortly providing a week of leadership and teaching sessions in venues throughout Ireland. Topics include Leadership Shifts for Disciple-Making Churches: from Mission Strategies to Raising Missionaries, Leading a Missional Church – Exercising the Gifts of the Spirit and Being a Spirit-filled Church. The Alzheimer’s Society will hold a one-day Carers Information and Support Programme in the Agape Centre, 238 Lisburn Road, on Saturday, March 12th, from 10am to 4pm. This concentrated workshop is an education programme to support people caring for a person with dementia.
