Races of the week

The Dublin Marathon series continues this Saturday with a 10 mile run in the Phoenix Park. As usual, there will be a massive field although entries are closed off.

Many of those taking part will be stepping up their marathon training and it should be a good test for them.

On Sunday, the Oylegate Half Marathon takes place in Co Wexford, and includes a 10k “fun walk” for those looking for a challenge that might suit them better.

The course has had some changes, with “a new flatter, faster route and the long hill at the end is gone”.

Half marathon entry is €30, with the 10k costing €15.
